Sample ballots are located on the City’s website and at the City Clerk’s office. For this election, pursuant to Order #76-07/08, all voting will take place at the South Portland Community Center, located at 21 Nelson Road. Voting will open at 7:00 A.M. and close at 8:00 P.M on June 13, 2017. Any South Portland resident wishing to absentee vote can do so at the City Clerk’s Office until Thursday, June 8, until 7:00 P.M. Office hours of the City Clerk/Registrar, 25 Cottage Road, South Portland, are Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. The office is also open until 6:30 P.M. on Thursdays, and will remain open until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 8. For more information, call the City Clerk’s office or visit the City’s website www. southportland.org CERTIFICATE OF CONSOLIDATION OF VOTING DISTRICTS AND VOTING PLACES FOR SPECIAL ELECTIONS NOT INVOLVING LOCAL MUNICIPAL REPRESENTATION SOUTH PORTLAND, MAINE WHEREAS, the City of South Portland, pursuant to its Charter and Code of Ordinances, have five voting districts for purposes of local municipal representation; and WHEREAS, the South Portland City Council, after notice and hearing as required by 21-A M.R.S.A. §631 and §361-A, approved Order #76-07/08 ordering that for all future special elections that do not involve matters of local municipal representation, the five voting districts in South Portland shall be consolidated into one voting districts in South Portland shall be consolidated into on voting district, the voting place for which shall be the South Portland Community Center at 21 Nelson Road, a true of which Order is attached hereto; NOW, therefore, the City Council of the City of South Portland hereby CERTIFIES that the five voting districts shall be consolidated into one voting districts for all future special elections that do not involve matters of local municipal representation, and the City Council further CERTIFIES that the one voting place for any such election shall be the Community Center at 21 Nelson Road.
