Scarborough Dance Center provides the highest level of dance instruction

If you’re looking for a safe, nurturing and fun dance studio where your child can learn and feel like part of a family at the same time, Scarborough Dance Center is what you have been looking for.

“I ensure, every year, each child reaches their maximum potential while in a nurturing environment,” says owner, Melissa Willey.

Melissa calls the center very “kid friendly,” – studio rooms even have twoway mirrors so parents can watch – and Willey frequently receives positive and encouraging feedback from parents, including Meryl Golovin, whose daughter Amelia goes to the center.

“I am so impressed with her improvement in dance over the course of this school year and with her improved sense of confidence that carries over to school and social settings,” Meryl wrote in an email to Melissa.

“I think you have a gift for working with young girls of impressionable age, and are able t teach them in a fun way that keeps them striving for more, makes them feel good about their accomplishments and helps them understand that constructive criticism is necessary for good learning.

I am consistently impressed with your business sense, sense of fairness, and your detail to organization, all the while maintaining a strong emotional connection to your students and being aware of their sometimes fragile egos, as well as those of parents.”

With many years of dance experience behind her, Melissa has taken the best from every teacher she’s learned from and made her own style.

Recently she was voted Woman o f the Year by the National Association of Executive and Professional Women. Dance Magazine, a national publication, also recognized Scarborough Dance Center as the top dance studio in the state. She also uses her expertise to teach master classes in dance.

Scarborough Dance Center provides the highest level of dance instruction, helping kids become the best people they can be. Kids will focus on the importance of manners and etiquette, taking turns, balance, properly developing muscles, musicality, selfesteem building and much more! The professionalism at Scarborough Dance Center doesn’t stop at Melissa, however.

Melissa carefully picks all instructors at the center to guarantee the highest caliber of teaching. Each instructor has been professionally trained in dance and each receives a curriculum to work from to ensure each class is learning at a progressive pace.

In addition to professional and expert staff, the center offers a facility that is perfect for a dance center. Conveniently located behind McDonald’s, off Route 1 in the center of Scarborough, the studio is beautifully spacious with three large dance rooms, high tech stereo equipment, plenty of parking and more.

We have brand new lobby floors and are constantly updating the studio, to keep it clean and inviting. Scarborough Dance Center strives to improve the business year after year.

The talent cultivated at Scarborough Dance Center is not only recognized here in Maine, but also on an international scale. Melissa is choreographing a dance to be performed during the 2012 Summer Olympics. Five Scarborough Dance Center dancers will perform at Warwick Castle and another location to be announced soon.
