Living with Uncertainty, with Dawn Stratton, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Cancer Community Center, 778 Main St., South Portland. After people finish active treatment or are nearing the end of cancer treatment, they often struggle with fears and anxieties about what the future holds, especially fear of recurrence. Learn ways to handle fears, anxieties and stress that stem from having a cancer history. FMI, call 774-2200.

Free income tax preparation, 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., South Portland City Hall. IRS-certified volunteer tax preparers with the AARP Tax- Aide program will be available to help taxpayers of all ages with the preparation of their federal and state income tax returns. Palliative Care and Cancer Treatment, 5:30 to 7 p.m., Cancer Community Center, 778 Main St., South Portland. Palliative care provides patients with relief from the symptoms, pain, and stress of a serious illness – whatever the diagnosis. Palliative care is provided by a team of doctors, nurses, and other specialists who provide an extra layer of support to improve the quality of life for both the patient and the family.
