Delta Dental Plan of Maine announced the election of two new directors, Michael A. Bevilacqua of Portland, and Dr. Jeffrey B. Doss of Cape Elizabeth.Since 1989, Doss has practiced in South Portland, Windham and Biddeford as a partner in Southern Maine Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, PA. He received his education at the University of Illinois and Loyola University School of Dentistry, and his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Connecticut Health Center. He has been an adjunct associate professor of oral pathology for 16 years, currently at the University of New England in Portland and Biddeford. In addition to his involvement with several professional associations, he has been advanced life support instructor volunteer for more than two decades.

Middle school students from South Portland, Richmond, Sullivan and Fort Fairfield emerged as winners in Maine Municipal Association’s first statewide essay contest, which carried the theme: “If I Led My Community…”The winners are: Luke Foster of Holy Cross Middle School in South Portland; Brendan Emmons of Richmond Middle School; Emma Bunker of Mountain View School in Sullivan; and Seth Woodman of Fort Fairfield Middle/High School. Each student will receive a framed certificate and a $250 prize to be used for educational purposes. The awards will be bestowed by municipal officials in their hometowns.
