Rotarians think of veterans during holidays

The Rotary Club of South Portland/Cape Elizabeth is partnering with the Veterans Affairs Maine Healthcare System to help address the needs of the men and women of Maine who served the country.

The needs are many, including shelter, food, transportation (to medical appointments) and beds. They also need cleaning supplies, dishes, shower curtains, sheets and blankets, toiletry items, pots/pans and other items needed to turn a new apartment into a home.

Non-Rotarians are also asked to help. To contribute cash, supplies, talent or labor, contact either Rotary President Bob Flynn at rflynn13@aol.com or VA Transitional Housing Liaison Susan Whittington, at 623-8411, ext. 4344 or email Susan.Whittington@va.gov.

“Together, we can help restore dignity and purpose for Maine’s homeless veterans,” Flynn said.
