A-B.E.S.T WINDOW is the local Maine company that manufactures, sells, and installs their own windows!

For nearly 30 years, A-B.E.S.T. Window has stood as a local institution in South Portland. The name has become familiar to locals in the area, but A-B.E.S.T. Window’s reach goes far beyond greater Portland. The family-owned company has installed more than 175,000 windows along the I-95 corridor from Kittery to Augusta since it was established in 1985.

Lisa Corey, vice president of sales at A-B.E.S.T. Window since 2001, said the company has grown steadily in the decade she has worked there. The trustworthy reputation A-B.E.S.T. has built means the company doesn’t often have to make radical changes, Corey said, but A-B.E.S.T. is offering a special deal for customers this spring.

From now through April 1, on top of its trademark buy three, get the fourth free sale, A-B.E.S.T. is offering customers 10 percent off their entire order. The spring sale will also include a drawing in early April, in which one customer will be chosen to receive their entire order free.

A-B.E.S.T. is one of only a few Maine companies to manufacture, sell and install their own windows, which are all made locally in Scarborough, said General Manager Adam Soule. This allows A-B.E.S.T. to sell factory direct and eliminate the middle man.

“If a customer has a question about one of our windows, they can make one call,” Soule said. Christopher Cummings, head installer at A-B.E.S.T., has been with the company for more than a decade. He and the 15 other full-time employees in sales, installation and manufacturing run what Corey called a “well-oiled machine.” A-B.E.S.T. is a registered window vendor for Efficiency Maine, an independent trust that works to promote efficient and cost-effective energy use in Maine to save money for residents, grow the economy and create jobs.

Some homeowners are eligible for further savings through an Efficiency Maine PACE loan of up to $25,000 to upgrade their heating system, weatherize their home or make other improvements to lower energy bills. The PACE loans are provided on a rotating basis to help homeowners make low monthly energy payments that can offset the cost of the loan.
