The group left Camp Hinds in Raymond on July 10 and arrived in Washington, D.C., the next morning. They spent three days touring the city, which included a meeting with Sens. Susan Collins and Angus King and Reps. Mike Michaud and Chellie Pingree. The tour also included a chance to participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. Their last day prior to the Jamboree was spent at Six Flags in Baltimore.

They arrived in West Virginia July 15 along with approximately 40,000 Scouts from around the country and some international groups. During their stay, they had the opportunity to participate in a variety of high adventure activities such as a zip line canopy tour, mountain biking, skateboarding, white water rafting, shooting and archery.
