Climbing for a cause

Kevin Fitzpatrick, a UPS employee and volunteer for STRIVE, climbed to the top of the roof of Jimmy the Greek’s restaurant in the Maine Mall Friday, Sept. 6 in an effort to raise money and awareness for the local nonprofit. Fitzpatrick set a goal to stay on the roof until he either raised $5,000 or 500 registrants for the “STRIVE For 5 Foden Road 5k” race/walk, scheduled for Saturday morning, Sept. 14. Fitzpatrick reached his goals and came down from the roof Monday, Sept. 9, after more than 75 hours. STRIVE assists young people with developmental disabilities. For more on the Foden Road 5K, see next week’s edition of the Sentry.
