Dogs recognized at cancer awareness event

Dogs are the unnoticed caregivers who give a special kind of support for cancer patients. The American Cancer Society’s Bark For Life of Greater Portland is a walk for dogs and their owners to fight back against cancer at Bug Light Park on Sunday, May 4. Bark For Life is a way to pay tribute to canines and raise funds and awareness to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

Bark For Life is a 3-mile noncompetitive walk on a preplanned route. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Dogs and their owners can enjoy games, demonstrations, children’s activities and contests throughout the event.

To register, call 1-800-227-2345 or visit relayforlife.org/ barkgreaterportlandme.
