Friday, Aug. 1

Beach to Beacon spaghetti dinner, 5 to 8 p.m., Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church, 280 Ocean House Road. Runners, families, friends and the public is invited. Menu includes spaghetti, glutenfree pasta, sauce, Italian bread, salad, dressings, brownies, cookies, lemonade and ice tea. Take out available.

Laughter yoga, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Cancer Community Center, Main Street, South Portland. Nina Walsh, certified Reiki master, will lead this drop-in class, which is a combination of voluntary laughter that often turns to real laughter, yogic breathing and relaxation techniques. No experience necessary.

Yoga class, 9 a.m., On The Move Fitness, 161 Ocean St. All levels welcome. Bring a mat. First class is free. FMI, call 799-0042.

“Early Methods of Making Chocoloate, 1 to 4 p.m., Cushing’s Point Museum, 55 Bug Light Park, South Portland. Susan McLellan Plaisted will offer this historic cooking demonstration for the South Portland Historical Society. Stop by anytime during instruction period.

Farmers market, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., South Portland City Hall parking lot, Mill Creek.

Worship, 9:30 a.m., First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 301 Cottage Road, South Portland.

Worship services, 9:30 a.m., Thornton Heights United Methodist Church, 100 Westbrook St., South Portland. Everyone welcome.

Church services, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with fellowship after, Elm Street United Methodist Church, 168 Elm St., South Portland. It also hosts Bible study. Functional fitness, 11 a.m. to noon, Cancer Community Center, Main Street, South Portland. Fatigue-busting workout combines light aerobic exercise, strength training, balance and relaxation. FMI, call 774-2200.

Stability balls, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Cancer Community Center, Main Street, South Portland. Core strengthening class incorporates balance and muscle coordination for overall strength and flexibility. FMI, call 774-2200.
