College renames science program

Southern Maine Community College has renamed its composites program to reflect the way the program has evolved.

The composite science and manufacturing program provides education and real-world experience while preparing students to enter advanced manufacturing industries in jobs that include quality control technicians, engineering technicians and shift supervisors. Students also have the option to pursue a bachelor’s degree through a credit transfer agreement with UMass Lowell.

The program was formerly called the composite technology program.
