Candidate wants to move Maine forward

To the editor:

I am writing this letter to ask you all to join me in supporting Rebecca Millett in her candidacy for reelection to the Maine Senate. Rebecca has worked diligently supporting her constituents and fellow Mainers over the past two years as our state Senator. I have known Rebecca and worked with her supporting our communities during the past decade and can say without exception that she personifies an individual who puts principles into practice. Her commitment to promoting educational advancements for our children stems from her vision in co-founding an organization that supports advancement in local education but also backing that up with six years of service on her local school board. Rebecca fights for the advancement and long-term growth strategies of small, local businesses. This comes from a background in economic development in a not-for-profit arena, but also an acute understanding of acquisitions in the for-profit arena, helping her profile what businesses are good for the state, can bring long-term growth potential and provide livable wages. To say this is valuable is truly an understatement.

However, what resonates the most is Rebecca’s commitment to her community and her state. She came back to Maine to raise her family as many of us do with an idea and vision to help move Maine forward. Rebecca is a woman of great integrity, character and stature who will continue to advocate for her constituents and put the people of District 7 first. Please join me in supporting and voting for Rebecca Miillett for reelection to the Senate on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
