Friday, Nov. 14

Laughter yoga, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Cancer Community Center, Main Street, South Portland. Nina Walsh, certified Reiki master, will lead this drop in class, which is a combination of voluntary laughter that often turns to real laughter, yogic breathing and relaxation techniques. No experience necessary.

Saturday, Nov. 15

Bean supper, 5 to 6 p.m., Peoples United Methodist Church, 310 Broadway, South Portland. Menu includes casseroles and homemade pies.

SPHS cheering vendor/bake sale, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Boys and Girls Club, 169 Broadway, South Portland. Free admission. Includes silent auction and face painting.

Author visit, 6:30 p.m., South Portland Main Library Writer’s Group, 482 Broadway, South Portland. Gail Gutradt, author of “In a Rocket Made of Ice: Among the Children of Wat Opot,” will discuss her book and sign copies that will be made available at library.

Functional fitness, 11 a.m. to noon, Cancer Community Center, Main Street, South Portland. Fatigue-busting workout combines light aerobic exercise, strength training, balance and relaxation. FMI, call 774-2200.
