Cassandra Albano, 16, of South Portland, is an alto singer with Musica de Filia, an all-female choir. She will be performing at the 2015 Choirs of America Nationals at Carnegie Hall in New York City, June 25 to 27. She is a sophomore at Merriconeag Waldorf High School in New Gloucester. Musica de Filia, (Daughters of Music) was founded in 1997 and directed by Jaye Churchill. The singers learn and perform a variety of choral musical styles, including traditional and contemporary American, classical, sacred, holiday and foreign-language literature.
