Flatbread sponsoring lighthouse fundraiser

The Flatbread Company restaurant in Portland’s Old Port will host a benefit night on behalf of the Spring Point Ledge Light Trust 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 14. Part of Flatbread’s mission is to support local organizations that have an impact on the community, primarily through benefit nights. The Spring Point Ledge Light Trust owns the Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse, located on the breakwater at Fort Preble on the campus of Southern Maine Community College in South Portland.

The Flatbread Company, located at 72 Commercial St. near the Casco Bay Lines ferry terminal, will donate $3.50 for each large flatbread and $1.75 for each small flatbread sold during the benefit. In addition, the trust’s volunteers hold a raffle for lighthouse-related prizes. All proceeds will be used by the trust to maintain and preserve the lighthouse and keep it available to the public during their summer weekend open houses.
