Flora Marley

Flora Elizabeth (Boyd) Marley, 90, of South Portland died June 27, 2015 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough with loving family by her side.

She was born in Cumberland, Rhode Island on July 18,1924 and was a graduate of Cornish High School in Cornish, Maine.

Flora married Raymond C. Marley Jr. on Sept. 8, 1953 and they enjoyed many adventures together.

She was in the Cadet Nursing Program during World War II and received her nursing degree from Homeopathic Hospital, now known as Roger Williams College of Nursing.

Flora was a dedicated registered nurse for many years, working mostly in psychiatric hospitals.

She worked in Athens, Georgia and Cranston, Rhode Island, among other places.

In her spare time she enjoyed reading, yard sales and above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Flora is survived by her beloved husband Raymond C. Marley Jr.; son, Ray Marley, and his wife Dr. Terri Weaver; son, Boyd Marley, and his wife Elizabeth Fowler; daughter, Allyson Marley, and her husband David Turner; five grandchildren, Spenser, Parker, Adrian, Jordan and Amelia; sister, Grace Gilpatrick, and her husband Delbert.

Flora will be deeply missed by extended family and her beloved dog, Daisy.
