Friday, Sept. 18

Movie night, 6:30 p.m., Skillin School, 180 Wescott Road, South Portland. Movie is “Home;” popcorn and water for sale. Proceeds benefit PTA.

Reiki treatment, with Michael Gelsanliter, noon to 1:20 p.m., Cancer Community Center, Main Street, South Portland. Reiki can reduce stress, promote relaxation and bring balance to mind, body and spirit. Call 774-2200 to schedule a 15-minute session. Preference given to new participants.

Saturday, Sept. 19

Bean supper, 5 to 6 p.m., Peoples United Methodist Church, 310 Broadway, South Portland. Includes casseroles and homemade pies.

Maine vegan meet up, 10 a.m. to noon, Cancer Community Center, Main Street, South Portland. Group is centered on learning and support for vegans, vegetarians and those who want to learn about those lifestyles. Includes food demonstrations, presentations and group discussion. Topic is “PlantPure Nation.”

After Hours Concert Series, Bellamy Jazz Band, 7 p.m., South Portland Public Library, main location.

Homecoming picnic, noon, Two Lights State Park, picnic pavilion, with Cape Elizabeth Church of the Nazarene.

Instructional knitting, with Kathie Tolliver, 9:30 to 11 a.m., Cancer Community Center, 778 Main St., South Portland. Start something new or bring a project. Yarn and needles available.

Eventide, 5:30 p.m., St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, Shore Road, Cape Elizabeth. A service of prayer and music in Celtic tradition.

Church services, 10 to 11 a.m. Peoples United Methodist Church, 310 Broadway, South Portland. Nursery care and Sunday school during service followed by a coffee fellowship.

Tuesday, Sept. 22

Functional fitness, 11 a.m. to noon, Cancer Community Center, Main Street, South Portland. Fatigue-busting workout combines light aerobic exercise, strength training, balance and relaxation. FMI, call 774-2200.

Wednesday, Sept. 23
