Friday, Dec. 4

Baked haddock supper, 5 to 6 p.m., St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, Black Point Road, Scarborough. Formerly St. John’s of South Portland.

Victorian Christmas Fair, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Peoples United Methodist Church, 310 Broadway, South Portland. Luncheon served 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.. FMI, call 799-1413.

Jolly Snowman Christmas Fair, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church, 280 Ocean House Road, Route 77, Cape Elizabeth. Luncheon served between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Includes a vegetarian dish.

Art and craft fair, 1 to 5 p.m., Small School Gymnasium.

Saturday, Dec. 5

Cooking for Chemo, 10 a.m. to noon, Cancer Community Center, Main Street, South Portland. Chef Ryan Callahan learned how to cook for someone with cancer when his mother had cancer. FMI or to sign up, call 744- 2200.

South Portland High School Cheering Vendor/Bake Sale, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., South Portland High School Café, Highland Avenue, South Portland. Free admission. FMI, email pomkic@gmail.com.

Holiday party, 10 a.m. to noon, Little Red Wagon, 546 Shore Road, Cape Elizabeth, have picture taken with Santa and other events.

Sunday, Dec. 6

Advent services, 8:30 a.m. chapel worship with communion, Cindy Maddox will give the message; 10 a.m. sanctuary worship with communition, also with Maddox. Fellowsip follows in Guptill Hall, including the Kids’ Quarter Sale where children can buy presents for friends and family, First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 301 Cottage Road, South Portland.

Worship services, 9:30 a.m., Thornton Heights United Methodist Church, 100 Westbrook St., South Portland. Everyone welcome.

Church services, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with fellowship after, Elm Street United Methodist Church, 168 Elm St., South Portland. It also hosts Bible study. A community dinner is held 4:40 to 6 p.m. every fourth Saturday of every month. No charge for dinner. Diners may make a free will donation if they choose. FMI, call 799-0407.

Wednesday, Dec. 9

Memorial Middle School band concert, 7 p.m., South Portland High School Auditorium, 637 Highland Ave., South Portland.

Osewantha Garden Club of South Portland meeting, 9 a.m., South Portland Community Center, Nelson Road. Participants will make centerpieces for themselves and for Preble Resource Center in Portland.

Sacred Stories, 3:30 p.m., South Portland City Hall. Limited seating. Listen to young adults, refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants, tell their stories of challenge, courage, gratitude, forgiveness and love. Donations welcome. For ages 14 and older.

Public supper, 5 to 6:30 p.m., VFW Post 832, 50 Peary Terrace, South Portland.

Includes Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, carrots, rolls and dessert.
