Pond Cove has new principal

Pond Cove Elementary School in Cape Elizabeth has a new assistant principal.

Theresa M. Curran, currently a first-grade teacher at Kennebunk Elementary School, has been named to replace Julie Nickerson. The school board approved her nomination Dec. 8. She is expected to begin work in January, after the holiday break.

“We are excited to bring Theresa forward as a nominee, she brings a wealth of experience at the elementary level,” Superintendent Meredith Nadeau said. “She was strongly recommended by the committee and administrators.”

Curran holds a bachelor’s degree in child study from St. Joseph’s College in New York and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Southern Maine.
