Bishop to speak at Cape luncheon April 25

Bishop Robert P. Deeley will be the guest speaker at the Mercy Auxiliary Spring Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 25 at the Purpoodock Club, 300 Spurwink Ave. in Cape Elizabeth. All are welcome.

The Mercy Auxiliary is a membership organization that aims to assist Mercy Hospital in “achieving its strategic goals through the fostering of good community relations, outstanding retail customer service, and exceptional fundraising events.” More than 150 individuals volunteer their time and talents to the auxiliary’s mission.

“During this Jubilee Year of Mercy, we are reminded that our loving Father looks upon us with mercy each day and sent Jesus to bring us that message and to help us to be instruments of mercy for others,” Deeley said. “Through corporal works of mercy, the members of the Mercy Auxiliary offer love and mercy in making themselves the neighbor of every person. In so doing, they extend kindness and restore hope for many in need.”
