Spring classes offered at Cancer center

The Cancer Community Center in South Portland announced five new spring wellness workshops being offered at the center’s South Portland location. All workshops focus on supporting people who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis or caring for someone who has cancer.

Pilates on the Ball is a six-week class that will use stability balls for increased balance, core stability, and fun. Robin Stickney, a certified Pilates instructor, will lead the workshop. This series will be held Wednesdays, April 6 to May 11, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Exploring Your Essence Through Yoga & Meditation is a six-week class that will use slow, easy moves to help the body relax and release. The workshop is led by Michael Katz, certified yoga instructor. The workshop will be held on Thursday, April 7 to May 12, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Rejuvenation & Movement is a six week fatigue busting workout that will revitalize energy and strength. Led by Hannah Friedman, this workshop is scheduled for Mondays, May 9 to June 8, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Yoga & Ayurvedic Remedies is a four-week workshop series that will teach natural ways to boost the immune system. Let by certified yoga instructor Nina Walsh, this series will be held on Wednesday, May 18 to June 8, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Relax & Replenish with Yoga is a five-week series led by Holly Hofmann, certified yoga instructor. The quiet and gentle yoga classes will help to reduce stress, soothe the nervous system and support healing. The workshop series will be held on Tuesdays, May 3 to May 31, 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
