The South Portland Food Cupboard says ‘thank you’

To the editor:

The South Portland Food Cupboard would like to recognize Macy’s employees who raised money throughout March as part of their annual “Bag Hunger” campaign. Several fundraising projects happened last month and all money raised by employees were then matched by Macy’s corporate office. The Cupboard is extremely grateful for the support of Macy’s and especially for the wonderful employees who continue to give so generously.

The Cupboard would also like to thank South Portland/Cape Elizabeth Rotary, Hannaford and many individuals who have made recent donations toward the purchase of additional commercial refrigerator space. Increased capacity to store perishable donations will allow the Cupboard to offer a greater selection of fresh and healthy food to clients.

The South Portland Food Cupboard, located at 130 Thadeus St., is open Thursday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and is dedicated to alleviating hunger by providing supplemental food to the needy of South Portland, Scarborough, Cape Elizabeth and surrounding communities. For more information, please call 874- 0379 or visit our website: southportlandfoodcupboard.org.
