Cape family to open home for solar tour

The Payson family of Cape Elizabeth will host a solar power open house in their home at 223 Mitchell Road 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21. Starting at 9 a.m. there will be a presentation allowing for questions and answers followed by a tour of the system. The general public is welcome to join and learn about solar systems and their ability to lower energy bills and reduce traditional fossil fuel emissions.

ReVision Energy installed 22 solar panels on the roof of the residence that offset roughly 5,245-pounds of CO2 emissions annually. This is the equivalent of preventing 443 gallons of gasoline from being consumed, or 4,232 pounds of coal from being burned each year. ReVision Energy also installed a heat pump water heater in the residence that provides all of the domestic hot water for their home.
