Picture perfect

Winners of the annual South Portland Boys and Girls Club photo contest were honored Monday, June 20, during the city council meeting. The City Manager's award went to Cierra Rowe, age 12, for her picture titled "Underneath." The Mayor's Award went to Seamus Jennings, 9, for his picture "Red Rock." Both photos, judged by the city leaders this past March, were selected from more than 75 entries. The winning photos were framed by Ernie Merritt and will hang at the entryway to the council chambers at city hall for the coming year. Shown at Monday's recognition ceremony are, from left, Rowe, City Manger Jim Gailey, Jennings, and Mayor Tom Blake.
