Celebrate July 4 on the water

The City of South Portland announced that Town and Country Federal Credit Union and Easy Day American Food and Fun will sponsor the City’s third annual South Portland Family Fourth at Bug Light Park on Monday, July 4. Activities and food trucks will be on hand throughout the evening leading up to the fireworks at approximately 9:15 p.m.

Local band The Delta Knights will perform from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Party Palooga will be at the park providing kids of all ages with balloon creations, glitter tattoo art and face painting. There will also be lawn games and activities at no cost. The fireworks, set off in Portland Harbor, are slated to begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. If the fireworks are canceled due to inclement weather, this event will be held July 5.

All vehicle traffic (with the exception of boat launching traffic) will be prohibited from entering Bug Light Park after 4 p.m. Parking is available at nearby SMCC parking lots, Allagash International and surrounding privately paid parking lots at the visitor’s own risk.

Car pooling and using the South Portland Greenbelt to Bug Light Park is encouraged.
