Ladies of the Lake, performance, 6:30 p.m., Thomas Memorial Library lawn, Cape Elizabeth. Free.

Barbecue dinner, to benefit South Portland Food Cupboard, 5:45 p.m., St. Maximilian Church, Black Point Road, Scarborough. Sponsored by Knights of Columbus, formerly of St. John’s in South Portland. Includes chicken, pulled pork, ribs, burgers and hot dogs.

Sunday, July 31

Eventide, 5:30 p.m., St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, Shore Road, Cape Elizabeth. A service of prayer and music in Celtic tradition.

Monday, Aug. 1

Strength training with TheraBands, 9 to 10 a.m., Cancer Community Center, Main Street, South Portland. Class will use a series of videos created for the center by local doctor and cancer survivor Ben Thompson. Class is drop in; no advance registration needed.

Tuesday, Aug. 2

Functional fitness, 11 a.m. to noon, Cancer Community Center, Main Street, South Portland. Fatigue-busting workout combines light aerobic exercise, strength training, balance and relaxation. FMI, call 774-2200.
