Lofts among recognized preservation projects

Greater Portland Landmarks will honor 12 historic preservation achievements in the greater Portland area with its 2016 Preservation Awards. Awards will be presented at Landmarks’ annual meeting, open to the community, on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 at the Maine Irish Heritage Center in Portland.

Award winners include Meeting House Lofts in South Portland.

The 24th Preservation Awards program honors a variety of people, restoration projects, rehabilitation projects, and adaptive reuse projects in four cities and towns.

“The substantial number of quality nominations this year demonstrates the community’s continued commitment to honoring the history of its landscapes and architecture. Everyone benefits from these types of projects that maintain the authentic character of the region,” said Landmarks Director of Advocacy Julie Larry.
