Tough it out and achieve goals

To the editor:

Have you ever thought about how your life will be in the next 10 years? I did, almost every night since 2003. All I was thinking about was graduating from the university. Suddenly I knew that I had to move and leave everything I started behind me.

Everything was dark and new for me. I did not know where to start. I needed the English language. I tried to ignore that and go back to college without first accomplishing this goal. I did not have patience to learn. I knew that English was the first step to achieve my goal. Sometimes you have to be flexible and open minded to get to the things you want. I started volunteering in a lot of places. Then I got a regular job as assistant teacher. Of course I attended adult education at the same time. All these things helped me to improve my English and to build my resume.

Almost every semester I was trying to go to the college to take the Accuplacer test. If you fail the first or second time, that is not the end of life. Never put an impossible time limit to achieve your dream. Now, after four years, my dream has come true.

You can make yours a reality too. You have to trust yourself and stand up stronger than before. Don’t delay your dreams. Take actions toward them and be proud of what you have done.
