SMCC to hold open house

Southern Maine Community College will hold a spring open house Saturday, April 8 at the South Portland campus, 2 Fort Road.

The event provides prospective students, and those who have already been accepted, an opportunity to learn more about the college and its offerings. More than 350 prospective and accepted students and hundreds of parents are anticipated.

Interested persons can register and reserve a space online at www.smccme.edu/openhouse. Check-in begins at 9 a.m.

Students who have already been accepted to SMCC will learn about orientation, housing, student life and their academic program of interest. All visitors can take tours of the campus and residence halls, visit academic departments, and meet with admissions and financial aid staff.

SMCC holds open houses every spring and fall at its South Portland Campus and its Midcoast Campus in Brunswick. The Midcoast Campus open house will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 4.

In addition to its academic degree programs, the college also offers noncredit classes and workshops in various formats through its Continuing Studies program for people seeking to start a new career, enhance their professional skills or explore their creative talents. Summer offerings will be posted at www.smccme.edu/continuingstudies in late April.
