Cape Elizabeth Police Chief Neil Williams has asked to clarify a statement paraphrased in in June 16 Sentry story entitled “Residents fast track speeding concern,” saying most residents should not seek to confront the drivers of vehicles seen speeding past their homes.

“When I said that I was referring only to the residents of Broad Cove, because they all know their neighbors,” Williams said. “I was not referring to people who live on Shore Road and in fact said I don’t want them chasing people down to Fort Williams Park, which is the usual destination for that traffic, or anyplace else they might be going, and confronting them.”
