Mark Clark of the South Portland Police Department for supplying this week’s photo and to Lee Harvey who serves on the Civil Service Commission for putting us in touch with Officer Clark.

In addition to the photo pictured here, Lt. Clark included some other great historical photos of interest that I hope to include in upcoming columns.

Lt. Clark tells us that pictured here is a “pre-shift (rollcall) inspection, covering their uniform appearance and their ‘six-shot’ revolvers.” The photo dates from the mid- to late-1970s. From left to right are Officers Cawood, Proctor, McLean and Taylor at attention for Sgt. Clarence Eaton.

We welcome readers to send comments or information about this photo to help us complete the story.
