Four South Portland Red Riots endured a seven-hour black belt test last month in Shotokan Karate at Dragon Fire Martial Arts. It was a test of physical conditioning, forms proficiency, along with an abundance of grappling and sparring that included two- and three-on-one situations. First degree adult black belts were awarded to South Portland High School students Jacob Hackett, 16 and a sophomore, pictured left, James R.
