Well done

The South Portland American Little League All Star team, made of up of 11- and 12-year-olds from the city, have been on a whirlwind tour of public appearances following their recent success. After winning the state of Maine championship for Little League, the first state win for a South Portland team in 50 years, they competed in the Eastern Regional Little League World Series, playing six games in seven days and going 4-2 in tournament action, missing out on a trip to the Little League World Series in a close final game loss to the team from Fairfield, Connecticut. "The people and business community of South Portland, as well as fans from around the state of Maine and across the country really cheered this team on and we thank them for their support they provided," said Assistant Coach James Gilboy. Members of the All Star roster included Alec Campbell, Richard Gilboy, Nolan Hobbs, Timmy Crockett, Ian Wright, Ben Stanley, Carson Blake, Johnny Poole, Aiden Lee, Andrew Heffernan and Matthew Fogg. The team manager was Jim Poole, while assistant coaches included Gilboy, Joe Wright, Craig Hobbs and John Heffernan.(Courtesy photo) The South Portland American Little League All Star team, made of up of 11- and 12-year-olds from the city, have been on a whirlwind tour of public appearances following their recent success.
