SoPo native completes internship

Isabella E. Frederick, a Clark University student from South Portland, completed an internship at Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund that was funded by Clark’s Liberal Education and Effective Practice initiative.

Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund is the state public policy and political office that serves the interest of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England. Frederick was responsible for community and volunteer outreach (phone and in-person) and helped with outreach events. She helped organize data and collect testimony for future advocacy projects and authored weekly blog posts to share Planned Parenthood’s priorities and successes.

“Now more than ever, it’s crucial to demonstrate the importance of reproductive health work to both everyday individuals and politicians,” she wrote.

Dolores Juan-Moreno, a lecturer in Clark’s Language, Literature and Culture Department, was Frederick’s Liberal Education and Effective Practice project adviser.

Frederick is a member of the class of 2019 and she majors in international development and social change. She is a 2014 graduate of South Portland High School.
