Improving Cottage Road safety, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Small Elementary School, 87 Thompson St., South Portland. Meeting will focus on improving safety for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists in the Meetinghouse Hill neighborhood.

South Portland Land Trust annual meeting, 6 to 8 p.m., Fore River Brewing, 45 Huntress Ave., South Portland. University of Southern Maine Professor of Environmental Literature, Dr. Owen Grumbling, will give a talk about the intersection of human and wildlife needs for land conservation.
