Municipal services vary for Thanksgiving

CAPE ELIZABETH – Town Hall and the Thomas Memorial Library in Cape Elizabeth will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24 in celebration of Thanksgiving. The Recycling Center on Dennison Drive is typically not open on Thursdays and as a result will be closed for the holiday, but will be open its regular hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) Friday, Nov. 24. All South Portland city offices, including public works and the transfer station will be closed on Thanksgiving. The solid waste and recycling typically picked up on Thursdays will be picked up Saturday, Nov. 25.

The Cape Elizabeth Community Services department is also closed on Thanksgiving, but the fitness center and pool will be open. The pool will host lap swim on Thursday, Nov. 23 from 7 to 11:30 a.m. and the fitness center will be open that morning from 7 a.m. to noon. Regular scheduling resumes Friday, Nov. 24.

Cape Elizabeth schools will not be in session Wednesday, Nov. 22 to Friday, Nov. 24. South Portland schools will be dismissed early on Wednesday, Nov. 22 (high school at 11:25 a.m., middle school at 12:15 p.m. and K-5 12:35 p.m.) and closed Nov. 23 and Nov. 24.
