Vigil to end gun violence, 5:30 p.m., outside First Congregational Church, UCC, 301 Cottage Road, South Portland. Organized by First Congregational and Bet Ha’am. Vigil marks fifth anniversary of the shooting Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtwon, Connecticut.

Knightville Holiday Stroll, 4 to 7 p.m., Ocean Street, South Portland. Includes food, sales, promotions, guest artists, holiday art show and opportunity to meet the new mayor. Portion of sales benefit artist who is in treatment for breast cancer.
