Winners include Environmental Educator Carina Brown (Portland), Environmental Education Coordinator Sarah Plummer (Gorham) and Environmental Services Manager Paul Hunt (Cape Elizabeth).

The award recognizes the Portland Water District’s innovative and effective curriculums and its commitment to sharing them with other organizations and teachers throughout the state.

The Portland Water District offers various educational opportunities that are important components to its overall efforts to protect the water quality in Sebago Lake. Through both field and classroom experiences, programs reach approximately 2,500 students per year in the Sebago Lake Watershed and the Water District service area, with many of these students receiving multiple visits from the Portland Water District through consistent programming.
