Join Surf Camp and Salt Pump Climbing For a Thrilling Weekend

Surf + Climb Camp is a unique two day program that combines surfing in the morning with rock climbing in the afternoon, providing participants between the ages of 9 and 17 with an essential introduction to these two exhilarating and complementary activities. We start out at Scarborough Beach, one of Southern Maine’s most impressive white sandy beaches, where we enjoy a full morning out in the waves followed by lunch on the beach. After lunch, we move a few miles up the road to Salt Pump’s

state of the art climbing facility, where the kids will get an intro to bouldering and climbing on walls up to 45’ tall. Total group size is limited to only 12 kids per weekend, so participants will enjoy lots of 1-on-1 coaching. The program takes place over selected weekends throughout the summer from 9am to 3pm. Book early on our website as sessions fill up quickly! Program cost: $219/pp. Sign up at: www.surfcampme.com/surf-and-climb.

Camp Alsing in Unity, Maine, is a co-ed residential summer camp for children ages 9-17 with high-functioning autism and other social communication challenges.

We empower our campers in a fun, supportive environment with guidance from specially-trained staff. We provide campers with the tools to solve problems more independently, and to build new connections less encumbered by the social anxiety that inhibits enjoyment of new experiences.

Our social learning program is influenced by the Social ThinkingĀ® approach of Michelle Garcia Winner, MA CCC-SLP, and the 360 Thinking Model of Executive Function Skills of Sarah Ward, MS CCC-SLP.

We believe camp is the ideal environment to build meaningful connections, and we believe Maine is the best place on earth to go to camp. Activities are offered in a “challenge by choice” environment and our campers try new activities because they feel safe, comfortable and accepted in our camp community. Activities include kayaking, swimming, canoeing, archery, fly-fishing, drama, arts and crafts, high/low ropes course, climbing wall, and so much more. www.campalsing.com , Emily@campalsing.com or 207-805-4155.

St. Peter’s Grand Slam Tennis Program

The summer tennis camps offered through the St. Peter’s Grand Slam Tennis Programs are fun, yet challenging and instructional and cater to boys and girls ages 8 - 18 at all skill levels. Our camps are taught by certified teaching pro’s & college tennis players with Foreside Fitness & Tennis as our indoor backup if it rains. Former tennis players from our camps have gone on to play tennis at Harvard, Wheaton, Colby, Penn State, and many other Div. 1, 2 &3 schools. For the beginner, a progressive format is followed. Each session teaches basic tennis strokes and strategy in an enthusiastic, but lowpressure, environment. For the intermediate and advanced players, every session consists of intense drills to refine strokes, conditioning exercises, strategy, and competitive match play.

Horse Island Camp for Summer 2018 is waiting for your child to be a part of their family!

Located in beautiful Casco Bay on Peaks Island, Horse Island Camp is an active day camp where kindness and animal appreciation is emphasized. Accessible by the Casco Bay Lines ferry in Portland, children ages 3 and up take a morning boat ride out to reach the island. Once there, the days are filled with horseback riding, kayaking, swimming, fort exploration, games, and crafts. Activities at Horse Island Camp are voted on daily by the campers and staff which makes the children feel very involved in their own activities!

Every year our repeat campers with developed skills take on “honorary aide roles” around the camp. They begin to help the younger campers in showing them how to groom and saddle up the horses. The horses in turn become aquainted with the new campers and feel the kindness and tender loving care provided to them. Doing this builds confidence, social skills, and establishes new friendships between campers. ATTENTION PARENTS….SPACES ARE STILL AVAILABLE FOR THE 2018 SEASON
