Candidate has what it takes

To the editor:

We strongly endorse Rubin Segal as the next judge of probate for Cumberland County.

We have been friends with Rubin (“Ruby”) for over 50 years, dating back to his Munjoy Hill and Portland High days. Ruby’s family owned the local grocery store on Munjoy Hill, Sam’s Superette, which was a staple in the local community. In fact, people still talk about Ruby and the store to this day. The Segals were well respected in the community because they were hard working and friends to all and, when it came to Ruby, he was and is the whole package.

Ruby’s work ethic and intelligence is legendary. Just as important for any judge of probate, he is kind, compassionate and relates to people from all walks of life. Ruby continues to do the city of Portland proud and he will do this county proud if given the chance to serve as the next judge of probate. Rubin Segal will get our votes on June 12, and we urge Democrats across Cumberland County to vote for him on June 12 as well.
