Toy drive seeks support

Organizers behind the seventh annual South Portland Toy Drive seek businesses, groups or individuals to adopt families for the annual drive that collects toys, boots and coats.

Toy drive officials are also looking for cash donations and donations of new, unwrapped toys, art supplies and gift cards that can be dropped off at Evelyn’s Tavern, Maine Roofing, Port Harbor Marine, Local Acapulco and Peoples United Bank, all in South Portland, by Friday, Dec. 7.

To make a cash donation, checks can be made out to the Community Needs Fund of South Portland Policemen’s Association and mailed to: Maine Roofing, 24 Bishop Ave., South Portland, ME 04106.

The drive involves a partnership with the South Portland Police Department, South Portland Police Patrolmen’s Association, the South Portland School System and area businesses.

The toy drive party will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Evelyn’s Tavern. Visitors are encouraged to bring unwrapped toys.
