Right, Meagan Hennessey, a volunteer for the Bureau of Parks and Lands who helped organize the event, uses loppers to remove invasive vegetation. According to the Maine Natural Areas Program, a governmentrun program that whose stated mission is to ensure the maintenance of Maine’s natural heritage, an invasive plant is defined as “a plant that is not native to a particular ecosystem, whose introduction does or is likely to cause economic or environmental harm or harm to human health.”
