The new restaurant being built at South Portland's Spring Point Marina where Joe’s Boathouse once stood, is nearly complete. The new business will be called 43 North and is slated to open in late May or early June, according to Laura Argitis, who is developing the property with Port Harbor Marine. She also owns the Old Port Sea Grill and says seafood will be a fixture on the ever-changing menu at the 172-seat site. Named for the local latitude line, 43North will have Stephanie Brown as head chef. Brown is executive chef at the Woodlands Club in Falmouth and previously owned the now-closed Sea Grass Bistro in Yarmouth. (Russ Lunt courtesy photo)1p1.jpg
